Hi everyone I got a question, my boyfriend and I really wanna try for a baby, and was wondering how long does it take for the depo to stop working, last shot was in May so how long does it take to get out of the system, not going for this months shot

It can take anywhere from 4 mons up to a year. Ive been on the shot for a while so for me it will prob be over the year though.

Be cautious until you get a period. You ovulate before you get your period so it is possible to get pregnant and you just think it's not out of your system yet. So until you get a period, use condoms. I had 3 shots and had my period 5months after my last shot. Took us a year of tracking and dr help to get pg with our first. Good luck

Was on depo for 3.5 years. Took 9 months after I stopped to get pregnant.

Been on it since July 2014 and my last shot was in May so hopefully soon

Was on depo for 3 yrs and it took 3 yrs to get pregnant. Really read up on depo, there was a class action lawsuit.

I had 3 depo shots (so 9 months) and didn't get my period for two years after the last shot.

I was on it for 2 years (about 7 or 8 years ago) I had my period for a month straight when I stopped taking the shot. I went to the dr and was told that it can take up to a year to get your period and them some to get back on your reguler schedual. I do not recomend anyone to go on the depo shot. As convienent as it is I now have 2 masses in my liver from it and they are still there to this day and dont seem to be disapearing. The depo shot is something I definatly regret taking.
