I am new to the city and wondering where I could find free councilling or mental health help, not sure where to start looking if anyone could help me that would be great

You can self-refer (ie- don't need a referral from a doctor or anyone else) to Mental Health Services in the Town Center downtown. This is through the health authority and there is no cost. They are open 830 to 430 Monday to Friday, and can be reached at 204-578-2400. If those hours don't work for you (due to school or work or any other reason), you can access the same services through the 7th Street Access Center at 20 7th Street, call 204-578-4800. I know this isn't about the OP question exactly, but since it has been answered I would like to ask a question on this topic.  
 
If you have used the free mental health resources and paid for some type of counselling what are key differences and is it worth paying for counselling or is what the province provides good 'quality'?
