Grand parents thought it was cool to smoke and go to the movies. Grandparents have/had alcohol and drug issues...I'm living proof.  
 
Was curious as to other thoughts.

Everyone is an adult in the situation, and it is their choice as to what they want to do for 'fun'.

If she was any younger I'd say no, but at 20 it's her decision. I personally wouldn't and I find it gross, but to each their own. Too many people smoke weed these days to be able to judge other people for doing it I find... just need to let it go. If you're the parent and don't agree with it Id have a talk with the grandparents and/or the 20 year old explaining your thoughts. But guessing they're all going to continue smoking weed anyways so whether it's together or separate with other friends/alone I guess shouldn't matter.

At least you know she is safe while she's doing it and the weed won't have any "additives." I imagine that it's fairly certain that her Grandparents won't offer her anything "stronger" to try.

They smoke weed and then go to the movies? Unless they have a DD, this isn't "safe". I'm not condoning or supporting them smoking weed, but don't put yourself (and others) in danger by driving under the influence.

Everyone's different, and I don't mean to judge, but looking at your opening post you mention that the grandparents have or had drug/alcohol issues, so I'm going to think it's safe to assume that when it comes to role modelling even moderate recreational use, they are not a good example, and that would probably be my biggest concern. If a young person is going to use weed or alcohol recreationally and in moderation, that's one thing, but if her older role models have substance abuse problems that would be a bad influence I think.  
 
Also, there are likely issues with boundaries.  
 
I wouldn't make a big deal about it, but I wouldn't pretend I don't care or it doesn't bother me.

The biggest issue I have here is the lack of a smoking sections in the theatre, or at the least indoors. My grandparents are getting too old and frail for us to gather up their walkers, bundle up and hustle out mid-film to spark up a doob. We often end up missing vital or funny parts of the film.

i think at the age of 20 all you can hope is that when you talk to your child they consider what you have to say, in order to maintain that you cant be too judgmental but you can point out issues yourself or your parents have had with drugs and what their consequences were, hopefully your child will see that what you say has some truth in it and not follow your parents path with drug abuse, as far as recreational pot the general consensus is that its no worse then alcohol, even our PM thinks that  
 
you can also talk to your parents and tell them what you think, especially if they drove to the movies high, if they did you can also phone the cops and report in the future
