Snowfall warning for
Brandon - Carberry - Treherne continued
10 to 20 cm of snow today and tonight.
A low pressure system is tracking through the Northern United States this morning. This storm brought snow to Southern Manitoba overnight which will continue throughout the day today. The snow will slowly taper off from west to east tonight and Thursday.
A total of 10 to 20 cm of snow is forecast with this storm. The most snow will fall roughly along the transcanada highway. Locations just to the west of the Manitoba lakes, as well as areas with higher terrain, will see the larger amounts.
As of 9:00 AM CST, weather radar shows that the snowfall is well established in Southwestern Manitoba and is expected to persist throughout the day.
Bands of light snow will continue to pass through the Red River Valley and areas to the Ontario border this morning. Radar shows an area of heavier snow in North Dakota that will drift through these areas this afternoon giving the bulk of the day's snowfall.
