For all the people that are on Telus from the Bell/Mts buy out.  
How is the Cell service with Telus.  
The company doesn't get great reviews for customer service.

I haven't crossed the bridges or left town yet, but in town, it's been better. Stronger signal. And faster overall.  
One thing that is noticeable immediately is that picture messages go out almost instantly. As opposed to either going right away or requiring a cycle into and out of Airplane mode.  
 
The network is likley fairly laxly utilized at the moment. We will see how it does in upcoming years.

As for customer service, I don't have any opinion on that yet. But my dad has been with them for well over a year, and I have seen them be nothing but good and helpful to him.

So far I have been impressed with Telus. I recently visited up north near Swan River and the service was definitely better than my parents and girlfriends (they all have MTS). I think the main difference I noticed is that if you only have say 2 bars of 4G the service is still usable rather than on MTS were if you don't have a couple bars of LTE you can't even load a web page. But as mentioned they might not have much of a user load on their network yet.

Since the switch I've had to deal with both. Telus answered my call within 5 minutes and had answered all my question with 10. Bell/MTS I was put on a 90 minute long wait list...pure garbage. As for cell service, Telus is better than both rogers and MTS...for my family anyway

I tried telus out for a month before signing a new contract with them and I've been more then happy with their customer service and cell service. The only down side is they don't have unlimited data on a plan. Oh and they came good for the $200 credit deal on a new phone that had recently expired when I switched. Got a iPhone 7plus for $0!

The funny thing is that Telus up in the Swan River would be using mts/rogers towers. any north of the Trans-Canada mostly uses MTS/Rogers towers.

That’s the key to a lot of these discussions... the information isn’t fully out there that in many situations you’re using the same phone by the same manufacturer on the same cell tower, just a different brand selling it to you and billing you for it.

I'm with Telus and have been having issue's with Rogers and Fido customers showing up as private number. Technical support says nothing more they can do and that it must be a Rogers issue. Kinda frustrating. But will try and get a hold of Rogers sometime

I’ve heard you use the same towers but at our farm I could only get service next to one window for 6 years. Switch to Telus and I have perfect service in the entire house.

There is exceptions depending on where your farm is there could be a close enough Telus Tower to you, Talus has all their towers mostly along the trans-canada the exceptions that I know of are in Winnipeg area as well as Brandon as there is a tower south of town and north of town by the rivers turn off, outside of those areas they use the MTS Rogers network or Bell now unfortunately customer on Bell/mts rogers cannot access the Telus Towers in Manitoba.

I had an issue with Telus in a certain area with intermittent service. The customer service rep checked on it and said there should be good service in that area. He then proceeded to give me a $50.00 credit for “my trouble” and then gave me a cell # for me to text when I was in that area and having issues. He has also texted me a time or two to see how it was going. I never had customer service like that from MTS.
