as i watch a current online auction, i am wondering why people bid on items days before auction ends. This drives the prices very high. Now, is this the auction placing random bids, or owners bidding their stuff up? oh well, gone are the days of getting a good deal at auctions. Good for the sellers

With the change to an online platform during covid, they found an online platform is more profitable than the old fashioned in person bidding process, where your facing your competitors face to face, and on the spot vs open bidding over a short week. Just makes bidding easier, which benefits the auction house and the sellers, which is their overall business plan and intent. You can still find the odd good deal on the smaller auction entities, but any company with over 1000 items in the list, is not for the average person.

I find that tools sell for ridiculous prices. Used cordless DeWalt tools for example sell for as much as new tools on sale. Why would anyone pay good money for tools without a warranty?  
 
On the other hand, I’ve got some smoking hot deals in the last few months. Never on tools, though.
