Ethernet cable

Can anyone suggest where I can go to get a long Ethernet cable? Needing quite a bit to run from our modem in home office to living room and was going to feed it under the floor to run it along basement ceiling so it's hidden. Thank you!

People told us princess auto and a tech guy even told us the dollar stores had them. While princess auto has tons of hdmi cords they did not have ethernet cords. The source, Best buy etc. They are not cheap.

If you are a Westman subscriber, go to them and they will make you a custom length cord, far cheaper than any place else.

A wireless router and an extender might work.

I found that the ethernet cables have a short life span.

Any of the computer places will put ends on the cat 5 wire if you no how long.

We do have wireless, however we are having issues with our streaming box and were told a direct line would help alleviate most issues.

had the same problem. new internet the router is now in our basement computer up stairs. went to the source bought wireless usb adapter. plugged it into computer works great no running wires

I suggest taking Sean's deal, would be far cheaper than buying one at a store they're all ridiculously overpriced

have Westman internet, asked them for 30ft of Ethernet cable to connect my android box, got it for free!

It was easier to put a phone line & box, then move the modem closer to my wireless unit.
Cheaper cable cost and no problems with Cat 5 wire.

Make Your Own Cable

You can always make your own cable to your own specific length needs, then use this tool to terminate the ends for a custom fit. Once you have the tool, you can terminate as many cables as you want for very cheap.

Just an option you may have not considered. The tool comes with 10 ends for ethernet, which would give you 5 cables:

I second the "make your own" vote.

Cabling bought by the foot is much cheaper than a pre-made cable, and it's easier to run as well, because you can easily feed it through walls and floors before the end is attached. Making your own cable is quite easy as well, if you have the tools, which aren't expensive (Amazon is a cheap source).
