$5k-$12K

A new service from the mains in the street to the house is alot different then just from your property line to the house. If you are redoing your waterline, you may consider redoing your sewer same time. Also see if your insurance covers it, most new policies do cover service line replacement. Typically the City is responsible for both sewer and water upto your property line, they will probably try to make you pay for the City portion but my experience which is well over several dozen services, the City is responsible for that portion. If you are actually paying for the whole thing right from the sewer and water main it can cost maybe as cheap as $5000 for a really easy one with nothing in the way and no road repairs, it can easily go upto $10-12K if there is high water table, longer length, hydro primaries in the way etc, insulation, other trench lines in closer proximity causing additional fill material etc... Sometime you need to do a live tap to the watermain which will cost a little more as well.
All local contractors that do this type of work will provide a free quote for your house in particular, give them a call and within a few days they should be able to give you a good idea on what it will cost you or your insurance company, if its for an insurance claim make sure you let them know that, as your insurance policy probably maxes out at $10k and that may change what they do vs. you cleanup after. If the contractor tries to charge you for a quote ignore them and move on, their obviously new to this type of work and you dont want them anyways.
Also if you are comparing quotes, make sure your comparing apples to apples, some may i:nclude landscape cleanup, some may leave it as a huge mess and leave it upto you to clean up and redo your lawn. Some contractors may redo your service and wait months to repour your sidewalk outfront and leave a mess for literally half a year, this is something to consider, set some timelines in your contract. You dont always get what you pay for unless you put your foot down and get it in writing.
