Rain coming into basement

Who should I call to assess and repair damage from rain coming into basement near a window? Previous owners removed window well and sloped land the wrong way so also need to fix that.

You would first need to contact your insurance company to initiate a claim. I would then contact Cancade Restorations 728-8909

Insurance doesn't cover this.

Basement is not flooded, just a large amount of water in a contained area which is being sucked up with shop vac. Need to find someone who can fix the problem.

Get your raincoat on and a spade and dig a trench away from where the water is pooling before entering the house. Direct downspout flow away from the side of the house as well. Do this until you can get someone in to address the problem.

I appreciate the answers above but they don't answer my question - who to call? Is there a recommended contractor for this situation or would it be a landscaper because the main issue is the lay of the land?

Any building contractor worth his salt would be able to fix, give any in yellow pages a call or look up on internet.
Be prepared to pay though, it will not be cheap.
Best to find some mates with spades and rakes and move earth away from house. Follow the advice in above posts.

I had a window like that, I ended up digging around it and installing a window well and put some rocks in the bottom, worked like a charm.

home depot carries galvanized window wells, I assume other hardware or lumber yards would as well

I deal with Cooperators.
My insurance package would in fact cover this.
Please check with your insurance company.
I can guarantee your gyprock is wet!
