Re-Finishing Claw Tubs

Has anyone re-finished a claw tub, or had one re-finished? I want to re-do mine, and I'm trying to decide whether to do it myself or have it done. Cost to do myself will be about $150, which is not bad. Anyone had theirs done professionally?
