Basement Foundation

I'm not sure whether to seek out an engineer or some sort of concrete contractor, and trust that there are other eBrandoners out there who are wiser than myself when it comes to structural stuff.
We own an old house (about 100 years old) and know that some sloping of floors is normal and to be expected. There is a corner of the house which is quite a bit more sloped than the others though, and some cracking of lath and plaster in the upper floors.
We would like to have someone in to check it out but just aren't sure who to contact locally.
Anyone else out there who has had foundation issues with an older home? Or anyone who knows who we should call?
