Cinder Block Stone Sideing Help

My wife and I just bought a house in the East End. The outside of the house is a cinder block stone with a rough face. The house is an awful peach color and I would like to paint it. What I am concerned with is the condition of the stone and what will happen when the paint is pealed as it has already started falling apart in several spots. Anybody know of a good company to deal with that could seal the stone and paint it properly? I have been told that it should stop falling apart if a proper sealant is applied. Thanks in advance
