I need some help with a techy-type question.  
 
My oldest child has a two-way monitor in his room, so in addition to us hearing him, we can speak to him through the monitor. It works great! His monitor says it has "encrypted & secured wireless DECT 6.0 transmission", which I'm guessing refers to how the units connect to each other.  
 
I want to get another two-way monitor for my other child, but I'm worried about interference and that the signals will get mixed up and mess up our ability to speak to the correct child.  
 
Is this something I should be concerned about? I remember as a kid having walkie-talkies that had channels... but the monitors I've been looking at don't say anything about having channels. Or will the parent unit and the child unit just automatically sync up correctly?  
 
Sorry if it's a really dumb question, I just don't want to buy a second monitor that's useless in our house.

You need to check the frequency it transmits on. Pretty much all baby monitors transmit on the same frequency (I had this same problem years ago).  
 
However, now days you can get monitors that route through your wifi. That might be a way to solve your problem, by having one regular monitor and one wifi one. They operate on different frequencies.

A regular baby monitor might work with your system. Your current system uses the same technology as a cordless phone. So if you buy a plain old baby monitor with channels (which I assume they still make - my current only is only a couple of years old), it might work.  
 
Or go with the wifi idea, that for sure should work.

I think (or I hope) I figured it out.  
 
The monitor I have now is on a 1.9gHz frequency and I found a different one that is on a 2.4gHz frequency. I'm hoping that from what I found when I was googling it that they won't interfere with each other.
