We have out of town guests with kids age 2, 7 and 9. Any suggestions for things to do in & around Brandon this week and next?

Old Rucker’s - is it Funtime now? The climbing playplace behind Wendy’s. Funtime pottery I think is geared for that age too?

Question about the Brandon hills, is it ok to hike this time to year? I’ve heard the cross country ski club gets upset if you stomp on their trails. Hiking is a great idea though and we plan to do tobogganing as well.

You can go hiking and still not stomp on the trails. It's possible to enjoy something without ruining it for others.

With 4 adults and 4 kids I’d imagine we would end up stepping on their trails even unintentionally. Clearly if we had concerns about ruining their trails then our intention is to preserve their winter activity as much as possible. I haven’t been there in winter and don’t know how wide the trails are with all the snow.

2km trail

There is a 2km trail strictly for walkers. So everyone can get what they want. It has a separate trail head at the car park to the west of the main trail head

Plus, there are several other trails not groomed for skiing.

Buy a cheap sled and go sledding or I think you can rent/borrow skates at east end community center.
Or Fun n Games or Just 4 Kidz.

Where are good places to snowshoe in orcclose to Brandon ? I’m assuming you can’t use the cross country ski trails at the Brandon hills or Rec Centre

Skating at the oval or community center, or Sportsplex, tobogganing, drive around and see Christmas lights, swimming, Funtime pottery, Fun and Games (is that what the old Ruckers is called now?), climbin play place (used to be called Playtime), the climbing structure at the bowling alley, bowling,

These are my 2 indoor picks. Not sure about the 2yr old but the 7 and 9yr old would really enjoy the board games they have at board game empire.
