Trying to deal with ignorance

Total ignorance in the house, going to raise a baby there too. The kids are very disrespectful, they yell, they throw fits, they always yell, i've tried to deal with them but the mother of them is not helping me, she allows them to do this and i am trying to teach them not to. I don't know what to do because i don't want my child learning to be ignorant to me, the mother, and i definately don't want my child to be rude to any adults or people coming into the house. please help!!
