I AM A LUCKY MAN!
I took care of my three kids as a single father. We relied on welfare and food hampers till we got on our feet, I went back to school to get my grade 12 then to college to get an education. There where so many times I did not no what to do but I kept pushing forward. I never gave up, one night while one my beautiful girls where sick I was holding her on her bed and telling her that dad will always be here, I promise I will never leave your side, she called me her hero, even as write this i have tears thinking about it. I was never a good man in my past so I promise them and myself I will be there and be the best dad i could be. One the first Mother's Day of me being a single dad I rember at the supper table while we where eating my daughters while eating said dad we have some thing we made in school and not sure what to do with it, so they both reached in their back packs and pulled out two beautiful pieces of art they made for Mother's Day and said what do we do with these. They where only 5 and 6 years old. I stopped to get my composure and said grandma will love those. They where happy. I went to the bathroom and cried, I felt so awful and helpless. I wiped my eyes came out and did not let them see me like that. Since then my oldest child graduated went to college and played he semi pro ball for 4 years and now I have the joy of working with him. My oldest daughter is graduating this years with honors and played multi sports for her high school and won city championship in her final year this year and is a awesome roll model and my youngest daughter is graduating in two years and she is an honor student and plays Multiple sports for her school and even played with her older sister this year. And she is an awesome roll model. All them give back to the community and we donate back to the charities that we use at one time to become stable. And now I got remarried to an awesome lady and have another beautiful son! So my reason I put this on here is to tell everyone if you fall never stay down, pick yourself up dust yourself off and keep pushing forward if not for you dads, do it for your beautiful children and give them the love and respect that they will past down to their children. My name is Glenn Maluga and this is my story. i love you kids! Dad(superman) will always be there! ALWAYS!!

This is amazing to read. Mothers are always praised for raising children alone and I believe more fathers should be recognized. You obviously made the best of any situation and your children learned from your positive vibes.

I am usually not the guy leading the ra ra cheers and peppy people are often more of an annoyance to me. That being said, being told not to give up from a random unexpected source sounded a little better to me today. You hear "never give up" from the usual sources but it tends to blur a little after awhile. The world needs more folks like you and I apologize for times that I have taken positivity for granted or found it annoying. So again, I say thank you.

By the sounds of it you had many difficult years, raising 3 very active children and at times had financial problems. But you persevered, at home and work. You should be very proud of your children and yourself. Happy to hear you found a partner and had a child together to share your and your children's life with.

As i read through your statements I feel like crying, tears of joy roll down my eyes.
I was brought by single mother you forsook many things to make sure we (children) achieve what is not opportune to get in life.
She struggled a lot for us.
Today she is our super hero.
we love her more than anything else in this world. I believe someone will be bless with this discussions. We should never give up on ourselves. I like you man.

I've been through something similar, but with 2 boys. I now have a young daughter with another spouse. Guys get a bad rap sometimes. I've always put my boys first regardless of the ex's stupidity. Paid way more than I should have. But they're my boys, what they need they get. Enjoyed your post. Glad it's worked out for you, as it is for us.

Better than most.
So many people think that this country owes them something so they sit back and take whatever they can get for free from the government, or they scam someone else, living off the effort of another.

This guy has a great work ethic.

What did that teach his children?

Good luck comes right after a lot of hard work.

The emails I'm getting from this is unreal, thanks so much for reading. If we can all be open, and not worry about what everyone thinks and talk and share about how we feel this world would be so much better. And we would teach and inspire our children with truth.
