looking for suggestions/recommendations for a child in grade 4 needing academic help, be it One on one help or programs Ect. Reading and writing being of main concern. Any help is welcome and appreciated. TIA

When I was an Educational Assistant I tutored kids after school for 10$/hr (a few years ago this was...). Perhaps an E.A. at your child's school would consider tutoring?

University Students are also a great resource. When I was younger my mom had a university student teach me math when I was in 5th grade.

The contact person at Brandon University was Mrs. Nichols. I will get the information in a minute.

K. Nichol is listed as teaching Contemporary Math, the course needed to be a teacher of math. She often passed a paper around for the students interested in tutoring for money or adding to their application to the Education After Degree program.  
 
Call the main switchboard at: 204-728-9520 to see if they can direct you to the correct name and email that is running the program this year.  
 
On a hunch, I would try to email: nicholk@brandonu.ca as that was the format used. She may have an old email address with the k removed: nichol@brandonu.ca.
