Why do people what large dog breeds for in town , cities ?  
Poor dogs never get to run , burn off energy , do the zoomies .  
sure they go for walks , maybe run off leash in a park .ether have to be tied up , on a leash really sad .  
Yes I know small breeds need to run , get zoomies .  
It's to bad back in the day when dogs started living in towns , cities that the laws would have put into place certain size dog only . allowed .

First of all restricting breeds causes problems as we've already seen with BSL, so let's not ban large dog breeds from the town's and cities.  
Second off not all large dog breeds are fit for living on a farm or whatever. Most large dog breeds do just fine in a city or town, especially if they get the proper exercise and mental stimulation they need. It's not all about them having the zoomies and running around. They can burn just as much energy through mental stimulation and play. As long as the dog is getting a good balance of activities including excercise and mental stimulation it's going to be a happy dog. I bet you didn't know that there are plenty of large dog breeds that are fairly low energy that don't require half as much excercise and stimulation as say a higher energy breed dog does. It's not about the size of the dog. It's all about looking at their drive and energy levels. You could have the laziest, non energetic large breed dog and then turn around and have the a medium or small dog with all the drive and energy in the world. As long as the dog has an off switch it's fine.  
Most large breed dogs you see out on farms have jobs protecting livestock ect. They are bred for that. Again most dogs are happy wherever they are as long as you give them what they need.

You got to be kidding. Why have large dog breeds in town ? Why not? I’d say the majority of large dog breeds get plenty of exercise. Sure there are probably a few that don’t pay attention to the needs of the animal referring exercise but why shame all large dog breeds. We have 2 dogs . A 10 year old yorkie and a 1 year old Czech shepherd. The 10 year old is way more hyper than the larger dog . Our shepherd gets plenty of exercise running in the back yard as needed . I’m curious to know what education other then google do you have to throw all large breeds into the mix. Or are you just assuming that every large dog owner doesn’t give them the exercise needed for them to be healthy and happy. Wanting a large dog in the city could be for many reasons . Protection/guarding . Like when my kids are outside playing I know that my shepherd would not let a stranger get close to them .

Sounds like a case of someone having one bad experience with a large breed and now chastising them all.  
 
My personal opinion is the opposite. It's alot of the small dogs running around like mad men often in the middle of or creating shuffles with other breeds.

no bad experiences with dogs I love dogs .  
it's just that dogs get the zoomies and just want to giver even in a off leash park not the same as running in a large open field .

I have a large breed dog and she really doesn't get the zoomies. She is actually pretty lazy-she would rather ride on the quad rather than run behind it. While we do live in the country, she would do fine in town with a back yard to guard. I have had small dogs with a lot more energy than this dog has, and I can say for sure that she isn't the only large breed dog with this less than energetic personality.

In my town dogs must be restrained out side of the house. Our dog is absolutely fine with having multiple long on leash walks everyday along with lots of play and love in our home.  
What you call zoomies is caused mostly by a lack of stimulation, exercise and attention.  
The large German Shepard cross husky living at our farmyard has total freedom at all times and is the laziest most lay about dog you will ever meet.

I have and only will have large dogs! My large dog is only one Quiet in my neighborhood!! All other dogs are small, medium and all extremely YAPPY!!! They actually learned my dog to be more YAPPY !! But my dog now lays there staring at them like they’re nuts. They need to be out running more till they get rid of their energy instead being inside!! So actually no one should have dogs or pets unless you are actively with them, not them waiting for you to do things with them!! I look after my dogs for 35 years and had up to 4 living elsewhere, never had a problem! Big dogs slow down quite a bit by age 2 not 10 or not at all!! My dog sits in the vehicle like a kid looking out open window. Not hanging out the front like small dogs that people think it’s cool. These people are endangering them , I’ve seen in person someone got hit from behind dog flew out and died!!!!
