Is anyone REALLY REALLY happy with their small companion (dog) Veterinarian?? I can never get in to see the vet I want and the other vets are horse doctors and and have the grip of a gorilla on my poor sweet babe. Anything else out there??

Clearly you don't have horses or you would know that there is just one large animal vet in Brandon-the other clinics are small animal only. Well, the one vet may still work on horses for certain clients but I won't have that vet touch my animals. I use Grand Valley for my small animals and am very haply with the service. I have also used Glenboro clinic and had good service there.

Virden Animal Hospital are great for our animals large and small but like all Vet clinics now they are always very busy so clients must be patient and understanding.  
There is a huge shortage of Veterinarians.

Not many vets do both large and companion animals.  
 
We go to Grand Valley and love it there. As there is a current vet shortage everywhere it usually is a 2-3 week wait to get in, even for an emergency. Though I prefer certain vets I accept who can take us if its an emergency.  
 
As I work in health care I completely understand the shortages. You can only be stretched so thin and vets need to take care of themselves too, not just our precious animals.

None of the vets in Brandon are accepting nee clients, as I have emailed each one over the long weekend inquiring, as I am looking to adopt a puppy and have heard of the vet shortage, so I wanted to be prepared. I was told Carberry, Souris and Bossivain vets are accepting new clients.

There are NO vet in BRANDON that are taking new clients. You will need to drive to MINNEDOSA, CARBERRY, NEEPAWA OR WINNIPEG

There are two mobile vets you could try Petmoblie that you see parked in different locations in Brandon or Bridge Veterinary that you can look on the internet for his information. We use grand valley but have to think ahead to get them in for their check ups or booster shots.

You could see if Frank at the Paw can take a look at your pup.
