I had just received word that a gal I know found her pets dead outside...She had a fair number of rabbits, guinea pigs (2 that were formerly my children's), and a cat....apparently someone had poisoned them. They were all caged as she kept them contained but took them outside routinely for fresh air and grass niblings.  
She has stated the police were notified but that not much can be done!!!!! I'm disturbed by this...does this mean that cruel people can go around doing this again and again with no consequence to their actions??  
How can our pets be protected if their rights are not even acknowledged??  
I'm sure if the newspaper,SPCA or PETA was involved, that something might be able to shed light on this and hopefully some justice served.  
Has anyone seen or heard anything that might help the police to find these cruel individuals??  
I don't have all the exact details otherwise I would contact the above groups myself.  
Hoping this doesn't or hasn't happend to anyone else's beloved family pets out there!!
