Puppy seperation anxiety?

we have a new almost 10 week old male pup, we have a baby gate up at the entrance to the kitchen so he is free to wander there. I am finding he cries when I leave the kitchen even to brush my teeth, I can't spend my day in the kitchen, but he seems to always want to be near me....Help.
