In the last few months I've come to realize that there is a very distinct sense of animosity between the various animal rescues in Westman.  
 
I've seen it myself with the bickering and derogatory comments made about "the competition"  
 
Now it may not be my place to say it, but I'm going to say it anyway. I find it pretty disgusting that people forget that the whole idea of rescue is for one purpose. To help animals in need!  
 
Its not about who is the better rescue, or ones sense of right or wrong, or blowing ones ego up or ones sense of self importance! Its about the animals.  
 
Its pretty sad that such a great cause has turned into a shit throwing show in our area. I think these people need to step back, reassess their attitudes about the ones they seem to have problems with and remember what it is they all are looking to accomplish. In other words, There are some who need to grow up. Your all working for the same cause no matter the name on the letterhead.

Specifically is "throwing shit"? Haven't heard or read anything about a turf war.

Is involved with a local rescue and they all get along pretty well. There's always some bad eggs no matter what the industry though. But I do know for a fact a lot of the rescues work together. If one rescue gets a call to take in an emergency case ( for example) I do know if they don't have room, they will contact other rescues themselves in attempt to find a place. So while there may be bad blood between a few select people, most rescues work together.

Not all. And those few that I've had the chance to encounter seem to think that they are the means to the end. Bullying and belittling others efforts. Some need to be reminded to drop the ego at the door.

Has the Humane Society. Great organization. No kill shelter.  
And it has Funds For Furry Friends. They had a restructuring and new people involved. It's also doing great things.

I clearly stated Westman, There are more rescues in the area then just the two you've mentioned. As for my experiences thus far... there isn't one that doesn't seem to have at least one person involved who has a holier then thou, we are the means to the end attitude.  
 
Again.. this is MY experience so far... I find it very sad.
