Does anyone know the fee from adopting a kitten from the Brandon pound??

It was around 200$

That's it. Please have your cat fixed after as well, so many unwanted babies

When I got my kitten there a few years ago she was $5.25 (with tax). It is $10 for an adult cat!  
 
But I agree with the above poster, that you should definitely get the kitten spayed/neutered so that no more kittens end up in the pound! So in the end you'll be looking at around $250.

The fee covers spay/neuter and first shots.  
It's a good saving!

Going to a rescue

Rescue kitties are safe-kitties at the pound are in danger of being euthanized. I have adopted from the pound and will do so again. I am happy to pay the vet Bill directly for neuter/spay.

Bought our kitten from the pound last year $6.  
Most vets have a kitten package which i:ncludes vaccinating and fixing for a reasonable price.  
Either way I would get your kitten checked by the vert when you get it. They check for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia virus. Which both are highly contagious and deadly. Luckily all our cat needed was ears flushed for ear mites. If your kitten is healthy. Pet Insurance is a good idea.  
Pets certainly arent cheap.

This is definitely not my first time around. It just has been so long since I had to adopt. My last furbaby sadly passed away 1 month ago at the age of 17 and I miss her dearly and having that need too love aND look after something so loveable.  
 
I know you can adopt form the Brandon humane society but the adoption fee is $200 which is a little steep for me right now. I was surprised as it is the highest in area as well as in winnipeg.  
 
My last cat was a therapy cat so it is kinda medically needed.

Pound kittens – Less than $10  
Rescue kittens – Less than $200

For everyone suggesting some of the other animal rescues, that's amazing but honestly if someone wants to save a cat or kitten from the pound, I give them big kudos.  
 
Hate to say it but the pound (that last I knew anyways) can only hold animals for so long before I have heard they get put down. I have yet to hear of any other rescues euthanzing animals because of over crowding.

I got my cat from the pound for under 10 dollars but with the indoor package it cost $196+ tax. So not more expensive than the humane society. Word of warning our kitten also came with a chest infection and mites in her ears. one xray was $180 . I would not trade my cat for anything but she certainly cost more than $200 in the end. Also both fff and bhs take animals from the pound when they have space. If you go the pound route kudos to you but it may not be the cheap alternative you think it will be . Either way good luck with your decision.

get their cats from the pound. Both of my rescue cats I adopted from a rescue but they were saved from the pound. Both are amazing, loving and have great personalities. So yes, adopt from the pound. Its prime kitten season right now, you adopt one, you make room for another.

Take cats from the pound.  
The fee from a rescue covers first shots, a vet exam and the spay/neuter.  
This fee ensures "no surprises" when you get it home. And ensures you spay/neuter your cat. Unless you don't follow through with that!!

Animal Control has cat traps all over the city.  
Once the kennels fill up at the pound one is euthanized. The cat euthanized is not the one there the longest or the shortest. It's the one considered "least likely" to be adopted and hasn't been claimed. It's there because owners let it roam-against the law in Brandon.

Just thought I would say the last time I was at the pound there we 2 awesome cats the we're both a few years old but one was a long hair, and loved to be petted and loved to purr. The other loved to be talked to. Please check them out if you would like to get an adult I tried to talk to my mom (rent the basement) to taking the long haired one......

the pound is at the brandon boarding kennels out by the golf club.  
 
The boarding kennel is located two miles West of Brandon at 66th Street & Patricia Avenue thats off their website .Dont think they have a website but you can go during hrs and see what they have or phone and they will tell you.

When I got my kitten a few years ago it cost me 5.25 plus tax! They also had a program where you could get a free spay or neuter if you were under a certain income. Which I was because being in school. So you could check into that as well! I'm not sure if they are still doing that anymore

Stray's that can't pay... ask them about Diamond- she's a spayed female up to date on vaccines had a litter of 7 kittens who all found homes but her... she's been in rescue far too long now. Being fostered at The Paw Resort & Wellness Centre... she's a beautiful cat.

If you got a baby from the pound YAY!!! The pets in Humane Society and such are safe...pound pets may be euthanized!

The kittens that were there were too little to go. Just waiting for my mom to get back from her holiday so we can go back and take another look. I miss getting cuddles every day.
