Patio door screen!! And so does the MIL!!

Lol but seriously, what have you done to keep the dog from walking thru the screen door? We had one of those retractable things that are supposed to "pop" open when someone taps it... it didn't work well and got destroyed. We then put up one of those magnetic things but it kept getting caught on the metal door frame and didn't close so the bugs came in and the cat got out... that didn't work. So we are putting the old sliding screen back up today!

However I'm wondering if there is a way of keeping the stupid dog from trashing the screen again.. I put magmatic floaty things in the middle eye level to keep the people from slamming into it but not sure about "dog height". Any thoughts?

We just stuck a piece of brightly colored tape to the screen. One at dog eye level. Another at human eye level!

How about a baby gate as well as the screen?

couple of ideas...

Train the dog to sit at doors and wait for their command to enter/exit.

Install a door with the screen only at the top of the door.

on the funny side maybe video tape it & send it to AFV's you never know what could happen .

We installed a pet screen. It is a heavier material and is very noticable ck out the hardware/ lumber stores. Bought ours for our place in the usa

Great idea.. I had thought of that.. however this dog was well established bad habits before I acquired him when some heartless beast dumped him at our farm.. so for now I screwed in a piece of metal that is doggy height across the screen.

they have screen magnets used to cover holes in the screen. They are usually bright colored butterflies ..... maybe the dog cannot see the screen
