So I am doing my taxes through Turbo Tax as I always have. And this year I am needing to add in a home office into my taxes as I am working from home (not due to covid, but just remote position). I am not too sure how to do it. I have gotten to the page to add in my Expenses, such as total electricity used in the home, water etc. But where I am supposed to add my values, it is giving me GST Taxable, HST Taxable and Zero Rated and Exempt.. I have NO idea what any of that means or where to add my values? Anyone able to assist? Added a photo for better explanation! thankyou!!

Usually there's a help key you can click on. Does yours not have? My usual software will link me directly to the relevant page on CRA's website.  
 
Basically, it's asking you to allocate based on whether (and how) those expenses are taxed. If the expenses are incurred in Manitoba, probably only the GST applies (on your hydro bill, for example). Some provinces, like Ontario, pay HST instead of GST (the HST is the federal GST and the provincial PST rolled into a single tax, which is administered federally and then the provincial portion is paid out to the province), but that doesn't typically apply in Manitoba as we pay the PST separately directly to the province. There's probably an adjustment/rebate somewhere calculated based on your entries here.  
 
The exempt would be if you paid no federal tax due to exemptions or being a non-taxable item. I'm not sure when that would happen for the categories listed.  
 
Chances are everything will just get entered under the GST category and be done with it.

okay I understand! That makes sense! So would I add in the complete total sum? Or would I be adding only in the GST that I paid associated? For example, would I be adding my totall Electricity, heat, and water that I paid into the GST box, or would I look on my bill and then add up the GST that I paid and add that into the box? If that made any sense. Sorry for my ignorance. They have a help, but I am not too sure I understand fully of what it was saying - attached photo.

Adding the full value really increases claim, that seems a bit off, but maybe it’s right?….
