the OP is referring to is the highly visible, well-lit crosswalk on the corner of Victoria Ave East and Russell Street, right by Shoppers Drug Mart.  
Usually the Westbound traffic stops properly, but the east bound traffic causes the issues at hand. The vehicles will not stop when approaching the crosswalk, even if we, as pedestrians are already in the middle of the road or stepping off the center boulevard.  
These vehicles will then proceed driving and turn south on Fredrick Street toward the PMH parking lot. This happens usually right around 7 pm. We do have a des:criptions of the vehicles and most licence plates on record, and will use if necessary.  
And for the record, we do not "step onto the road expecting the cars to stop on a dime". Regardless if the east bound vehicles are 100 feet or 2 blocks away, you''ll never know if they will stop

Will not catch everything, such as, the pedestrian walking up, not hesitating, doesn't look, does not extend their arm, does not push the crosswalk button, just walks straight out, looking the other way.  
 
It's the driver's fault.

I've seen drivers yell at pedestrians, saying they can't cross. Even though they stepped off the curb when the white walk icon is on.  
 
You have to wait for pedestrians to cross when turning left.

I’ve seen lots not even stop at stop signs, the most they would do is slow down, quickly look one way or the other and gas it. If they won’t make the effort to completely stop, the pedestrians will have to pay attention at their place instead.

It’s only a small number of people, but Brandon does have enough people that think they are above the rules.  
I’m all for mobile cameras.

Let's put mobile cameras out so we can catch:  
 
A) Those who do not know what that silly button at a pedestrian crossing has a purpose!!!!  
 
B) For every pedestrian who blatantly jay walk and dare drivers to hit them.  
 
Be thankful we are having a fairly tame Winter for not having a whole lot of snow or ice on the roads!

Now that we got some snow and the roads are bad, DO NOT IN SHAPE OR FORM Jaywalk and give anybody the finger when they lay the horn at you for your own stupidity of A) crossing when you have a red traffic light and B) Not paying attention to traffic. This happened around 6:30pm at the intersection of Princess and 9th st. Thankfully I have a small car and have traction control on my car, I was only going 38km per hour there no traffic around. Otherwise I would of smoked the 2 buggers.  
 
End of rant.

I've almost hit a total of 3 pedestrians this past winter because of them paying more attention to the stupid device in their hand rather than crossing the road. 1 was walking in between cars lined up at a stop sign . And 2 crossed randomly on a solid "stop" hand when I had the straight way.... put the phones down!
