I am wondering if people like the vegetable sellers and windshield repair tents have permission or pay to be in the parking lots? Does anyone know?

I’m pretty sure the windshield ones pay a monthly “rent” but I can’t speak for the produce carts.

They will all have permission, if not they won't be there very long. As far as paying "rent" some do, some don't depends what they negotiated with the owner of the lot.

I work for the windshield repair tents

Basically the company pays rent for the spots. We pay Walmart, Safeway, sobeys, and The Shoppers Mall to use their parking lot. We’re paying for the spots so we do ask people to move if they park in our spots as those are reserved for customers.

Having those windshield repair tents in the parking lots is genius! It’s far more convenient than taking the car to the shop. I had my windshield repaired right after doing my Saturday morning shopping, what a god send! The service was friendly, professional and fast!

Bylaw shows up and asks if you talked to the city of Brandon and wants to see your permit to be there.

I suggest not only get permission from the owner of the property but also make sure you have a permit to operate business in the city of Brandon, and that they approved you to be there also.
