come on guys these are not pick up and drop off spots for cabs many of you have been told and asked by store managers not to do it yet you choose to continue to park in them dollarama on 18th shoppers on vic walmart just to name a few places

In the middle of the street, blocking back lanes. They seem to think they can do whatever they please. I take down the car number and the cab company and complain. If they refuse to do something about it I call and complain to the city.

park in handi-cap spots. People think they are entitled.  
 
Same goes for people parking and blocking driveways and saying that 'I'm not going to be long' That being said since some neighbours moved I'm not missing the daily cabs parked in my driveway

Biggest pet peeve...spots dedicated to parents with small children or expecting mothers, and when people park there are neither of those, nor picking either up... what happened to curtesy....I've seen many times even on the bus when pregnant women have had to stand while abled body people are sitting in the seats... sad sad world we live in

They don't seem to care that my husband needs a cane and its hard to get in and out of the care plus he uses a walker. These drivers don't get out of their vehicles and seem to enjoy making those that have difficulty suffer more.

Please don't assume you can "see" all disabilities...

…..all the time, parking on the side of the street in a "no parking, emergency vehicle" lane.....people get down right rude when I ask them to move their vehicles......

Just because you can''''''''t see what''''''''s wrong with them doesn''''''''t mean there isn''''''''t something wrong with them. Smh if they have a handicap pass they have it for a reason. Smh that''''s like saying you don''''t have a bladder because you can''''t see it. I have an auto immune disease which causes crippling pain as well as a bulged disc, arthritis in my spine, hips, knees and ankles. Can''t walk super far and to anyone looking at me I look perfectly fine. Even though every step is agonizing for me. Please don''t judge someone because you cannot see what''s wrong with them.

There were open spots right by the door but guess who was blocking the first 3 spots TWO cabs! Didn’t give 1 care either when I mentioned my aunt who had a hard time. Exact words were “yeah so”!  
Don’t get me started on the school cross walks, not only cabs but parents too! My kids shouldn’t have to walk into the street first before they can see if there’s oncoming vehicles.

Ask them to move. If they don't move, most people have smartphones. Take a couple of pics of the offense, the license plate and the driver. Tell them that you are taking the pics to the police. They will get the idea. As long as the police follow up on it and give tickets...

Many of us with legitimate handicap tags look like we don't need them & for sure don't have to justify needing one to you - we've already gone through all of that with our Dr's, sometimes more than one Dr. Please don't judge what you don't know about.  
One that burns me is someone sitting in a vehicle with a tag waiting for a person to come out of the store. That's not the intended use either. Makes me wonder if they read the letter that accompanied their tag!

One that is not a noticeable illness, but just look it up and read the symptoms. You would not tell they are better off in a handicap spot by looking at them.

That is just one that came to mind - I am sure there are many more.

Just yesterday we were at walmart and saw a vehicle double parked in a new parents/maternity spot + handicap parking spot. I took a photo cause i just couldnt believe the ignorance/entitlement. Ill try and share it under photos on here! There are parking lot rules/laws and they need to be enforced. Ive always said there should be someone responsible for appropriately ticketing or even towing vehicles who are not complying in all parking lots.

My biggest peeve is the ones parked right in the yellow no parking zones. Unloading the lazy fat wife or waiting to pick up the wife coming out with the cart of groceries and 3 squealing brats...because walking 50 feet would be a hardship. One day at Stupidstore in Wpg. this happened. And while they where busy loading 3 bags of groceries and stopped in the lane right in front of the doors. A woman with her cart full came out..and her 4 year old came running out as well,in front of the lazy persons SUV while I had to go around and try to pass it to get by. I missed that child by mere inches. My heart went to my throat. This is something that never should be allowed. Everyone knows children run ahead of parents. And to allow these morons to stop and park,wait and block the view should be charged with endangerment. SIMPLE.

There are the people who park their cars in the taxi stands while they go in shopping or go to the food court. Also, all of the 4x4 trucks, SUVs , etc that sit in the taxi loading zones. So if a customer call a taxi, how are they supposed to get picked up? That's the mall and Superstore, the Corral Center doesn't even have taxi stands or loading zones, so where does someone get a taxi there?

A while back at Shoppers Mall I was picking up my kids. I pulled in behind the 2 Taxi's that were parked in the Fire Lane. Well the Little Security guy came over and said I can't there, I asked why not? He said it's a Taxi pickup, I laughed and said I was the same, I am waiting for my kids. Didn't ask again.  
What got me was that I was parked next to a Fire Truck sign and Security was worried about Taxi pickup....

I so agree with you on this one...

A friend of mine has a handi-cap pass and you cannot see her disability. She has gotten a couple of notes from people saying “why are you using this spot” when her pass was showing inside the car. She has musculoskeletal disorder which can be painful. Please be kind and do not assume

My favorite is to sit behind them and blasting the horn till they leave.

I remember when I was 19 or so I used to do Superstore pharmacy deliveries and I'd park in the fire lane right next to the front door...that was a LOOOOONG time ago but I remember either getting a ticket or being threatened with one by By-Law so I stopped. I just wonder why, if you can be ticketed, the city doesn't just have a by law officer in a lawn chair knocking out tickets all day at any of the major retailers...

lots of times we see mostly expensive vehicles parked out the front waiting for their 'princess' to come back out, lmao!

There is 0 enforcement of this, its illegal, but if there is no tickets being handed out then people will do this. Can say some Taxi are bad for this, some companies worse than others !! I have a bias opinion i know, but i know some cabbies are terrible in this town !! Some are also amazing !! I'm gonna chalk this up to not everybody is perfect(nice way to say lots of ignorant drivers out there) and without enforcement not much can be done.

new one pizza pizza the company that delivers there usuing handi cap placard while working makes you wonder some times after a couple phone calls did find out someone was usuing grannys car and handi cap placard  
 
anyways bylaw and city police need to step up and start ticketing people not just looking the other way

I have disabled parking and only use it when needed as it says in the letter when you get it. I have a hard enough time walking around my own place  
Due to the need of surgery for my feet let alone he the need to get groceries and such. And it gets me when people park there without a permit, not even on dashboard.  
 
I also came across it in the winter time when all slots were full and i had to park really far away from the store only to find out that the disabled parking spot was being used as a waiting spot. That was the last straw.... I knocked on the window and told him that he could park there and that I was disabled and had to walk all the way down the parking lot because of what he did. His response was he was wating for his family, advised him that he could not do that here that he does not have a sign and people in need this spot.  
 
I have also seen people abuse it way too much too. Parking I the spot and running in??? Wearing stilettos? Does that count as a medical condition. I have lived with my condition all my life and it was my doctor who finally recommend I get it to help me reduce the risk of losing my feet

My mom has a placard. I have taken her shopping, parked in a handicap spot, and walked in with her. Every once in a while, by the time we've gotten through the store, she hasn't felt up to walking to the car, especially in the winter when it's icy since she's very unsteady on her feet. So, I walk out to the car (by myself) and drive up to the door to pick her up.  
 
To any onlooker seeing me walk out, it would look like I'm abusing the placard, when they just don't know the full circumstances. I always hope people don't immediately jump to the wrong conclusion, although it seems that a lot do.

My Mom has a handicap placard too. However I drive and drop her off at the door and park elsewhere. This way the handicapped spot can be used for the disabled who are by themselves.

If she wants to be dropped off initially, I agree, I will always park in a normal spot but if she wants to walk in from the parking lot, I park in the handicap spot for her. Many times it's backed up in front of the store with pick ups and drop offs so the spot is actually closer. She has the handicap placard for a reason, so I see no reason she can't use it, even if someone else is with her.  
 
I know I'm not the only one that feels that way as I've seen many groups of people exiting a vehicle from a handicap spot that do have a placard where only one person has a visible disability.

I recall when My dad had a tag for handicapped, I was surprized that his doc had authorized him to have one. Not sure if he really needed it or not, or just felt more secure being able to park closer, less traffic to navigate while walking, He was in his 80"s.  
 
I dont know how easy it is to get one, If it is up to the doctors note, some might give it out easier than others.  
 
anyway I was going to say that for all those that have an "Invisible" disability, dont be too harsh on those that might raise an eyebrow or 2 either here on in the parking lot to those people that have that "invisible" Handicap.  
 
I suspect there are lots of people that are abusing the tag by using their mom or dads tag, or a friends and the rest of us that are kinda looking out for the handicapped/disabled and ensure that the stalls are being used by the right people, can't tell the difference between an"invisible" disability and a fake one.  
 
real awkward conversation in the parking lot if we question someones use of the parking Handicapped stall when they look ablebodied and we get yelled at or chastised for questioning the user.  
 
Simply by questioning the right for someone to use the stall shows we are on your side. Yet we may get called out on it if we made the wrong judgement.  
 
the alternative is to not give a shit and let all those that have a tag just work it out between those that are abusing their tag and those that have a legit reason.
