I am looking for a church that would welcome a newcomer. Someone with open views that is honestly just trying to find their way, their beliefs and where they fit in.  
 
Have you or someone you know found a church like this? No specific set religious beliefs.  
 
Where would you suggest?

I would highly recommend going to McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church. 635 McDiarmid Drive Brandon. They make all newcomers feel very welcome  
 
There's no pressure to join and they are very open to everyone personally I have never felt more welcomed at any other church.

Knox United Church is an Affirming church, if that is important to you.

Any non-denominational church should be welcoming because they have a rather broad scope of beliefs represented. I felt very welcome at first Baptist Church, but that big one on the corner of kircaldy? Is supposed to be for people looking for answers/a place.

I would recommend attending services at a few different churches to find one you feel fits for you. If you can introduce yourself to the minister/pastor. I attend St. George's Anglican church at the corner of 5th and Southern. Our weekly service is 10:00 on Sunday morning. We would love to meet you if you feel like joining us.

On the North Hill. Very welcoming church, sermon topics are very interesting and applicable to your daily life and problems individuals and families are dealing with, check their web page to see recordings of services and sermons. Pastor Brian is amazing, you can see he puts a lot of time and efforts into preparing for Sunday service. They also have KidZone (Sunday school for kids of different ages).

I agree that if you're searching, try a few different churches. Even try a couple that you don't think you would like.  
 
Some churches also have a class you can take. Enquire at ones that you're interested in.

It seems we all have church’s we love. They are like shoes, you need to try them on to make a decision- just don’t go by the salespersons comments.

You could try Gateway. They meet at the Betty Gibson school. I know the pastor & his family. They are very open and very friendly. They want to focus on community. I am sure that you will feel welcome.

Hi, FitNFab. First Baptist Church in Brandon would love to welcome you to join us any time. Membership is not a requirement to attend. 3881 Park Avenue across from Waverly Park School. Services on Sunday are at 10:30 and we enjoy a potluck lunch together once a month following the service which gives us a chance to get to know each other better. Hope to see you there!

We belong to Keystone Baptist Church and not only is the congregation welcoming, we are blessed with biblical teaching. You are welcome to come and visit and join us for a few services without making a commitment to join. Feel free to ask questions.

I suggest you try a few and wait until you are comfortable. No reason to join any time soon even after going awhile. Church is not about membership and volunteering.  
 
Nothing wrong either about going once and awhile.  
 
If any church comes up ands ask for contact information don’t give it. I did that once and they get phoning me and mailing stuff even when I told them to stop.

if you want to understand the difference in the various denominations send me a pm and we can meet over a coffee and discuss this. There are definitely different focuses on different parts of the bible that make each one unique. For most they may not care. Some churches also have what is called small groups, where different people get together once per week or two and just build community. Some are focused on different things from life, parenting, relationships, theology, etc. anyone who wants to get into this more maybe start a new post and not hijack this one.

I find the leadership at the pulpit really steers the the church.  
 
So a denomination within it different churches may stress different aspects.

2 years ago I participated in the RCA program at St. Augustine church. It was an hour a week from September to May. If you contact them now you could set up a meeting with Father or the ladies who put on the course. Talk about whether that is a journey you would like to take. If you start the course then decide it’s not for you there is no obligation to finish. The ladies that run it are absolutely amazing.  
 
I found the Catholic Church very welcoming. There are a few of their beliefs that I don’t necessarily agree with but it doesn’t affect my relationship with god whatsoever.

I second Cities Church. You won't feel uncomfortable walking in for the first time as there are so many new people coming weekly. It's fun and good music, and isn't a long service so it's great if you just want to pop in and see if it's for you. The church is so popular that it's had to move buildings 3 times this year to fit everyone and in a few weeks will be at the WMCA but for now it is at JR Reid School at 10am. Come check it out.
