Can you elaborate.
How did you receive the warning?
Who did the recipient claim to be?
But absolutely, generally speaking never share banking or personal information in response to an unsolicited text message or email and treat links in text messages or emails with the utmost caution. The anti-fraud centre goes as far as advising to not click on links in any text messages:
http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/fraud-escroquerie/tm-mt-eng.htm
If the message comes across as being from a large company that you do business with, rather than use any contact information in that message if unsure Google their support number and call the support number thats displayed on the Google search result for the company's official website.
