It’s no secret Brandon has had it’s share of wild turkeys, especially the South End.

This winter, one large flock of 22 had been relocated to outside of the city from the South End with another about 20 birds strong still thought to be around.

Noticed the Police tweet below having fun with a pic of a small group downtown today:

In the spring with warming weather, bigger flocks tend to spread out in smaller groups. Combined with first time (or at least rare) sightings I know of this week West of Shoppers Mall and in the Valleyview area it seems that spreading out might be taking on a different pattern this year?

Curious what other areas of the city they’ve been seen in this month other than the usual area South of Richmond and East of 18th St?

Perhaps with places being less busy due to all the shut downs. We will see them venture into different areas than usual. I don’t recall ever seeing them anywhere near core downtown before.

I've seen them around 15th and Rosser before. Not often, but they've been there.

But there's lots of photos from all over the world of animals coming into cities where they don't normally go. So I'm sure we'll see them around.

That one day when it was so mild, when was that anyway, haha, I had the bedroom window open and I heard gobbling, went and closed the big gates but didn't see one turkey but I know I wasn't dreaming!

We've seen the before in the Imperial Place condos here in Riverheights I think last year. Probably coming up from the rail line. But it'll be interesting if they get up further north.

What I'm waiting for is more moose... !

Thats funny! I live in behind Walmart, I will be surprised if I see them here, but I am watching!
There are usually a lot of deer at Riverbank Center but I am not seeing much of them lately.

Police arrest turkeys soliciting downtown Brandon.
They suspected them of foul play.

We had one lone one in our yard for a day last spring.

There were a few in our yard last weekend.600 pts

Saw then on the corner of 18th and Princess Ave a few weeks back.
