There's a big difference.
I'm not the least bit concerned that all the mega corporations involved in the food industry are going to somehow stop sending food to stores if I criticize some people blocking border crossings with tractors.
I don't know why people think it's somehow forbidden to criticize farmers... Or "truckers"... Or anyone else for that matter. Act like a petulant child, expect some people to criticize you. I don't care what job you supposedly do when you aren't using your vehicle to mess with other people's livelihoods. "
Most of the food that we buy is produced by family run businesses and not mega corporations as you incorrectly stated. This is a common misconception among members of the public.
More importantly most farmers would distance themselves from the actions, violence and disruptive behaviour seen in these protests and would condemn those involved. Most of us are too busy working in the day to day operations of our business to be involved in such behaviour anyway.
I hope that it is now clear to everyone that blockades, and occupations of this nature are not acceptable in Canada’s democratic society and will not be tolerated now or in the future. Those involved will now feel the strong arm of the law as they justly deserve and I hope it serves as an example and a deterrent.
The damage to Canada’s reputation by these protests has now been done and it will take many decades to earn the trust of our trading partners back.
