Has anyone crossed very recently. Thinking of going tomorrow just to Bottineau and back same day. What do I all need to do and prepare?

Your best bet is to go to the Border Services website

Just fill out your arrivecan app they will send you a QR code to get back into Canada  
,and take your passport you should be good to go

take your proof of covid vaccination records for the US side. I have been thru a few times and asked for it once.

I have crossed several times recently. On the US side, they may ask you if you're vaxxed but they probably won't. Have proof off vaxx anyways. Canadian side, be sure to fill out the ArriveCan app before leaving, it's super easy now and you don't have to answer any questions related to quarantine or do testing of any kind, just upload a pic of your passport and your proof of vaxx and you're good to go. Estimate what time you'll be crossing, they're not going to be upset if you're off a bit. When you get to the border, give them your passport , not your arrive can receipt. They told me they can see if you filled it out on your passport when they scan it. No idea if that's true or if they really don't care to scan arrive can, but they will ask for your passport if you try to give them arrive can and are highly unlikely to look at arrive can at all.  
Still, you must fill it out, don't skip it, it's so simple now without the quarantine questions, etc, anyways. Otherwise, it's all just like in the good old days! Very normal and easy. They will be wearing a mask because all federal buildings have to, but you are not required to.

Border services has nothing to do with crossing the border. It's a place that holds packages for Canadians.

Haha we're both half right. It's called Border shopping services. And the CBSA is called Canadian Border Services Agency. Most people in Brandon call border shipping services border services which is why I was confused by your statement.

Okay I'm all wrong, is that better? You referred to "border services" which most Brandonites I've met use to refer to Jay Vanorny's "Border Shipping Services", not the CBSA. You said Jay's business is called Border shipping, which is incorrect. That's all. Sorry i said anything, I just found your reply confusing. I understand now.
