I work downtown we’ve got a homeless person whom is court order banned from our establishment. The person comes by and continues to harass us we were told to phone the police when this happens. So once again we did. We got two cruisers and two angry cops. We told him where he was still in our building. They were angry with us and concerned about how it looks with police removing a homeless person and promptly left. They didn’t even approach him or check the situation. What are we supposed to do

I would at least talk to him about it as this seems inappropriate behaviour for police officers based on what you are describing

I can understand the police officers frustrations with this situation as its just a daily catch and release for them but it doesn't excuse their reaction and hostility towards you.  
 
I'm beyond tired of having to deal with these junkies shooting up in lobby's that I have to work around and its only a random occurrence for me, I really feel for business owners,employees and police officers that have to deal with it daily.

I see the root of the problem is that City Administration does not have the will to deal with the .001% that loiters, steals, panhandles and intimidates. Instead the 99.9% that invest their money and careers in downtown trying to make it a place people feel safe to frequent, are left to deal with the issues every day. Unless someone steps up to challenge the lone mayoral candidate this fall, things will remain the same. By all means, help the homeless, etc. but don't punish all of the regular, hardworking citizens that don't cause problems.

Suggest this is a example of the enforcement of rules, laws and bylaws. Being a enforcement officer and police officer is not a easy job. That being said their jobs are to enforce the law and bylaws otherwise why have them? These rules are to protect and of the best interests of society as a whole. Allowing people to do what every they want when every they want is back to the wild west.  
 
I would suggest that there is enough services in our community to help people . Giving a hand up vs a hand out puts the decision back onto the individual. If they are unable to make clear decision on their own then at what point is it societies decision to make it for them? One would hope that a court order would be a step in that decision. The lack of enforcement of that order shows the people with the right to enforce the order being part of the problem not part of the solution.

Next time you see downtown security roaming around stop and ask them if it's possible to have their phone number to call in the future and see if they will come hang around or assist with getting this individual to leave your establishment. I imagine if they are able to they would like to help as I often see them just sitting around princess park looking bored.

there are two 4 security guard that have been hired by the city. Two monitor princess park and skateboard park and the another two patrol the down town.

So the two that patrol downtown should be able to assist with this situation yes? It sounds like it's part of their job?

Would be interesting to know if that is their job. Don't think they have the authority to enforce court restrictions on people. Would suggest one would think that they are to contact the police if someone is breaking a law or bylaw.
