PST refund?

    I've got the number to call tomorrow but thought I would ask eBrandone experts.  
    I bought a new lawn tractor and then sold my old one privately. Can I apply to get a refund of some of the PST like you can do with a vehicle, atv or snowmobile?

    If it's within 3 months, then yes.

    I worked in the insurance industry for a couple of months. And I sure you can get a tax exemption if you purchased and sold an off the road vehicle within 6 months.

    I called and I can't get a refund where it pertains to a lawn tractor. Only registered vehicles.  
    Not fair in my opinion because if I had traded it in I'd only be paying pst on the difference.

    There was an exemption if the lawn tractor is over 17.5 hp for landowners but I’m not sure on exact criteria now.

    If you wanted to get back some pst you should of charged the new owner of the old one. Look at how many times a insured vehicle gets pst collected on.
