Does anyone have any clue as to when the “construction” behind the police station is going to wrap up? Between 11th and 10th on Mctavish. It has been under “construction” with no progress to anything in over a few years… I am curious! Thanks

Looks to be closed permanently as BPS is using it to park vehicles. I know in the past BPS has wanted that street closed and now it looks like they got their wish. The city has always told them no in the past

Is all that construction fencing still up around there, it feels like it was erected 4-5 years ago ?

That street has become a parking lot.

The Police department took it for them cop cars, instead of building a garage they rather took the whole street for them... I wonder why the neighbors haven't complained about this.

are we the tax payers getting charged for the rental on the temporary construction fence? It looks like a half-finished job to me. Shame on the general contractor.

What’s half finished about it? The construction was done months ago. The city/police are keeping the fence up to use the street as a parking lot for police vehicles. Don’t blame the contractor. Contact the police chief, deputy police chief, local city councillor, mayor or police board and ask them whats up. Heck even the local media so they can go on the hunt for answers.

that it was the chief who set up the construction fence. I wouldn't recommend looking anywhere else but the GC.

Well the fence is being left up because the police want to use the street to park vehicles. The police made the decision not the contractor

Would someone please explain what the problem is?? We need the police, the police need patrol cars, patrol cars need a place to park. If you need to get to the Superstore from the west end and you're driving on McTavish and you now have to drive to Victoria Ave to go past 10th Street, OMG.

Just a comment:  
There are more cars in the parking lot and 500-11th than when Safeway, a liquor store and a bank were at that location.

Do you have any idea on how many people work at the police station?  
 
Like I said in my previous post. Police need patrol cars. Patrol cars need an officer and an officer needs to get to the police station, there's 2 vehicles in the parking lot already. 10 policemen, 20 cars in the parking lot. Add in support staff, administrative staff, front desk, detectives etc, now you have a full parking lot.  
 
I'll ask the same question as my previous post, what exactly is the problem??

There is still a process for street closures that have to be followed. The closure impacts garbage collection, and there are two multi-family buildings on that block that rely on that street to access their parking.  
 
I get it, people need a place to put their cars, but if this was a private company, or J&G, there would be a riot calling for answers.
