Anyone else see that plane flying around town this afternoon? Anyone know what it is?

Looks to be a U.S B-17 or something along those lines from what I could see, you don't see those everyday!

WW 2 B-17 Flying Fortress

This plane in question is a United States W.W. 2 B-17 Flying Fortress. It is here in Brandon all week and will be flying in an air show being put on by the Commenwealth Air Training Olan Museum. The United States used this bomber during daylight raids over occupied France as well as Germany in ww2. Please call the training museum for details on the bomber and the air show which is this Saturday. I believe the bomber is providing rides all this week for a fee.

Anyone know the cost to go for a flight? What I read on the website was around $400 which is too pricy for us.

Too pricey. last year when I did the five dollar tour of the plane( worth it). I noticed the front gunners seat.

I heard about 900 for that. Better seat than the pilot in my opinion. Too scary for me and my budget.

The whole event was cool. Sorry I think it was several years back. The Mitchell would be cool to see also.

It's out of budget for a lot of us. but the price is about the same as a ride on the other B-17's in the US like the Memphis Belle, or Aluminum Overcast.

I'm curious what the fuel cost is for each of those flights, and if the 7-10 passengers paying even cover it.
