Do not forget slow down on school zone starting next september 1st.  
Maybe set your phone clock reminder for monday/tuesday few times in a day or for couple days so you do not forget

but for those of you that cant seem to read the signs properly. They are NOT in effect during July and August or on weekends.

It also doesn't apply unless there is a sign. Some schools you can continue to drive by at the speed you did before this law came into existence.

know not during summer but after 2 months some people will forget so either click it in your head every day this weekend that tuesday is 30km where indicated or i thought for forgetful people use your phone clock to remind you that is all.

This has always been a necessary safety precaution. Although I don't have kids, you definitely see the need for the "reduced speed zones". I lived across the street from New Era for a few years and when the kids disperse when school lets out to cross 6th street, many drivers used to blow through the crosswalk. This slower speed will mean that drivers will be more aware of the children in the area!

In some towns/ cities, the school spped zone is all year round!

say that for the most part I haven't even seen any of the signs except the one on first street in front of Crocus. (It says in effect September - June) And when I drive by there is never any kids. I also understand the need for safety and obey these rules each and every day they are applicable. But when they are not I do not wish to slowly follow a vehicle that has misunderstood the signs. lol

would think that Crocus and Neelin school will not be necessary to have 30km zone because students are old enough to know how cross the street after all students think they are old enough to drink, smoke, drugs, sex.  
The city I came from had a grade 9-12 school 4x bigger than cocrus with 3 storeys and do not remember having accident at crossing streets. I guess we had brain back then and didn't need mommy or daddy's help to cross a street

I have noticed a few trees, as beautiful as the green leaves are, some need to be trimmed away from the signs.  
 
But it is still the driver's responsibility to look for the sign if they see a school.  
 
The reason the smaller towns have the lower speed all year is because many of the schools also have a significant play structure, a daycare, and community centre around the same block and these run all the time.  
 
I wonder if the volunteer group of Citizens On Patrol will be out with their radar sign.  

I do 30 km all the time in a school zone just cause there is no school

have been putting in my mind all day today I will take another route to drive avoiding school zone so i am slowing down to 30km when they are no school yet.

Why are you insulting/ making fun of The high school students in Brandon? They don't "need mommy and daddy" to help them cross the street.

What is your problem? I am not asking no one to do anything or changes. You overreact on reading people comments and you blow up with your opinions.  
Who do you think you are calling others ridiculous without really knowing them? Who gives you the right, gee I do not insult and make of fun of anything or people in my life.  
I am not even bother reading the next comments from whoever because this is crazy how some jump on you. Everybody says their opinion but there should not be people calling words to others.

ebrandon does not allow to post a company name in a bad manner well Adam should not allow people posting comments calling others in bad manners too.  
It should not be acceptable and respect more courteous comments, everyone has the right for opinion or suggestions in here without put one down.  
I avoided driving school zone today and was my choice, I forced or suggested nothing of sort to anyone. EVeryone else can do whatever.  
I STARTED POST TO REMIND SCHOOL ZONE I DID NOT ASK TO CHANGE ANYTHING AND I FELT I GOT JUMP ON

I guess we had brain back then and didn't need mommy or daddy's help to cross a street " Protecting our children is top priority whether they are in daycare, preschool or Kindergarten to Grade 12 slowing down to 30km an hour is a small price to pay for preventing just one child from a serious accident or fatality.   Just FYI try visiting ACC on the North Hill Campus , where the students are older then high school, and YES the whole Campus speed limit, which is enforced is 20km per hour 24/7 365 days per year.       "

speed limit is so low because the Mental Hospital was there for eons, they didn't just change for the ACC students!
