Anyone do this job in fall? (Sorting, driving, picking?) Thinking of giving it a go. I understand it's long days like 12-13 hours.

Never done it but I imagine that you would need a strong stomach to put up with the smell of putrefying potatoes for 12-13 hours every day!

If we get a bit of rain this weekend it wiil likely make the job a little bit less dusty, there's something about working with the soil I really enjoy and I think that science has actually proved that it's good for you.

Go for it you'll likely enjoy it.

Does anyone know if any farmers offer a temp. place to stay for workers? I know a few people who would work, but they don't have daily transportation.

I was an equipment operator at Keller farms (carberry/shilo area) and I know he's always looking for sorters and drivers for the field trucks. If you send me a pm I can give you his contact info.
