Just wondering what people that live out of Brandon do with their garbage and recycling, if there is no pickup? Some family of mine insists on burning it neglecting the negative impact it has on the environment and their own personal health. They commented "I don't want to waste time sorting the recycling into different bins". What are the options for rural families to dispose of waste other than burning it and does anyone know the cost to take garbage/recycling to the dump or recycling depot?

Municipalities have their own garbage and recycling drop-off locations that are free for taxpayers to use. For example, the RM of Elton's drop-off is in the same yard as their office an shop. They can contact their RM office for details on where to dispose of garbage.

There are waste, recycling and glass bins in Douglas. These are free to use for local residents. If we have larger, garden waste or toxic items then we can use Evergreen for free too.

Has recycling at their transfer stations...only have to sort out cardboard & glass.

has garbage & recycling at 2 transfer station or you can also use Brandon's eastview site at no charge , but I believe there is some restrictions
