Does anyone know what the deal is with the Camera on the northwest corner of the old Mackenzie seeds building on the roof ?  
 
(the brick building with wheat king banners at 18th and pacific)

I wondered that too, i thought maybe a traffic cam of some sort since it overlooks 18th but I haven't an idea who or what own it.

I don't know who put the camera there or what it's for, but the building is the old International Harvester Building. I believe it belongs to Kullberg's Furniture now.

what about the camera that is on the set of lights at 18th and Queens? It is pointing west.

I couldn't find a link, but I swear I have seen live footage from those spots on the weather network..... Could be mistaken tho. Couldn't find it now.

The camera was setup by WCGtv to be used as a traffic/flood camera. There has been limited use so far but we expect to have it used as filler on our WCGtv stations (Westman 12 and 1012) in the future. It provides us a good view of the North half of Brandon in the event of major events. Ie/ floods, fires, etc.

That's a vehicle detector for the lights. Just like the many others around the city.

that is actually a PTZ (pan,tilt,zoom) camera, so i can be rotated,tilted, and zoomed from a remote location. I'm not sure who put it there but I believe they placed it there because its in a high-up central location in Brandon so it can look at the river, the coral center,the north hill,the river bank discovery center, out towards the prison, up 18th street, up at the sky or even at the down town area. and with the amount of zoom those cameras have it should easily be able to see cars in the Walmart parking lot
