When will the drivers of Brandon realize that when the lights are flashing amber one way and red the other, the amber side has right-of-way and the red side has to treat it as a stop sign. Not a 4-way stop. Some people are just looking to cause an accident. If it was flashing red all the way around, then it is to be treated as a 4-way stop.

I've been living here for 10 years and it still makes me mad when people do that. The first couple of times I proceeded through the yellow, assuming the same rules applied here as in the rest of the province, only to be nearly hit and yelled at both times.  
 
Since then I follow the crowd, if nothing else to save my skin. But then I fume about it the whole way home.

I blast my horn at the people who are stopped and proceed through as I should.

I hate this about Brandon too, not following the rules causes accidents yet people think that are being nice and courteous , ya right, confusion and chaos causing is NOT COURTEOUS !!

I often wonder if someone at the DMV had a sense of humor when handing out licenses. Over half the drivers have no idea what a merge lane is, it's the only place I've been where they had to place an electric sign basically telling people how it's done. 4 ways are beyond some peoples capabilities and yes... The oh so confusing intersection with flashing lights... That's just to name a few. Do these people just never leave Brandon??????

both of these concepts must have been skipped when 80% of people took there drivers tests. Although the yellow doesn't mean fly threw intersection it means you can proceed with caution.

I hate when people do that too. Its more annoying when a couple of local media outfits tell people on their facebook fan page to treat flashing orange and flashing red traffic lights as a 4 way stop!
