Does anyone know if the city water in Brandon is considered hard or soft or neither? I'm concerned because I've noticed my hair has gotten really dried out over the years and I'm wondering if it's because of the water and if I should get a water softener installed to remedy the problem. Anyone know???

Very hard. I installed a softener last year and have been very happy with it, hair more manageable, skin much less dry (esp in winter). Clothes seem to last longer too.

It seems like more stuff is being added to our water over the last few months. I hand wash a pair of dark denim jeans & so much dye has been running off of them with just a cold water (& vinegar) soak....and they are 3 years old! Doesn't seem right to me!

Our water treatment plant is OLD and needs replacing. If it gets replaced it will cost the city millions of dollars. Since eBrandoners like complaining about taxes going up (or anything else), just imagine....

They are upgrading the water treatment plant and it is costing a boatload of $$. Also, we will be seeing increases for the next few years. Parts of it are like a hundred years old and the quality of our water is pretty poor. Not to mention it was never designed to filter out medications and chemicals.
