me wonder how youth of the past ever survived without being wrapped in bubble wrap or helicopter parents? How did I survive the 80's and 90's? And it's really not the kids fault, but the parents that are making them like this.
I used to bundle right up to go skating at the Douglas Rink when it was -40, actual temp. And that was really only in the 90's. I remember going to high school in Elton and being on a bus that had no heat. Or being on a bus where the fuel lines froze and had to wait for another bus. Then we just dealt with and never made the papers or social media, today it would be all over Facebook and eBrandon. And it didn't break down in the city but out on the low road.
In the past, this trip from the school to BU under these conditions would of been nothing and it was just a bunch of really bundled up kids walking.
