Gabage pick up

Anyone know what's going on with the garbage pick ups? Mine didn't get picked up and neither did my neighbours. Does anyone know if it's due to the weather/ workers busy sanding the roads, or workers not able to get to work. I understand these are valid reasons I just want to know what's going and if I should just take my bin back to the house.

They put on FB and radio that it was cancelled. Mine didn't go either. They said that it won't be rescheduled either. So wait for next week or take to the dump yourself. If you do take to the dump yourself, then they will waive the $2 entrance fee for those who didn't get garbage service today.

(Tues.) was my pick up day so I set it out not knowing for sure if it would be canceled or not. When I got home my bin was blown over. Pretty sure the wind blew my garbage straight to the dump all on is own!

But in case it did not get to the dump on its own:
Sorry if my garbage ended up in your yard everyone!

Here's the notice about garbage collection. If your day was yesterday it isn't being made up. At last word weather permitting they were planning on collection today.:

Just my personal opinion and I haven't actually been out, but wind readings don't look a whole lot more permitting right now than they did yesterday. Hopefully between what plows have been able to do and any slow improvement that's expected in conditions they're in a position where things can be pulled off safely today.

Good to know...thanks for the info everyone!! I will check the FB page...because I went on the city's website today and couldn't see any info about garbage pickup being delayed or rescheduled. Our garbage pickup is tomorrow (Thursday), but our back lane has snow drifts 3-4 feet high, so I can't see them picking it up tomorrow morning.

They picked ours up this morning, and I could see the tracks from the loader so they were likely clearing lanes as they picked up garbage.
