Also not understanding why bus kids get automatic and free lunch supervision while others wait on list to get in who need it and likely live in school area. Guess this is at all schools or just Riverheights??

I'm glad my child goes to a school that doesn't have a limit on how many kids can stay for lunch. As a working mom who has rotating lunches and none match up with the school lunch time, I need this program. This is the reason I fought for school of choice. The majority of the kids going there stay for the lunch program.  
 
Kids that don't pay for the program shouldn't be getting free supervision. If you want your child to be able to play with their friends, pay for them to stay.

The real question is why is bsd the only division that does not supervise kids at lunch. Every other division I know of the teachers watch the kids at lunch. Including Winnipeg. Not sure how that got in their contract but it is garbage.

Garbage would be if the teachers were not able to have a lunch break either. Why should they not be able to have a break like every other employee. I have lived elsewhere and know that teachers do not supervise everywhere.

Is your attitude that believes teachers shouldn't have a lunch break. Unbelievable! Do you work? Do you get a lunch break? Think before you type. Geez

I only grabbed these 2 WPG lunch programs info sheets.  
alternitive truth is a real issue with the internet. I sometimes wonder if some people believe when they print something on the internet that it becomes true.

Lunch programs are generally run for students who's parents work lunch hours and need somewhere for their children to be at this time. BSD is responsible for bus students from the moment they get picked up until they get dropped off. They provide lunch supervision for bus students because there is no way that student could walk home at lunch time. There are Ea's and lunch program employees supervising students at lunch. BSD is providing lunch supervision as well as parent council run lunch programs...  
It's important to ask questions at your school if you do not understand how things are run, not speculating how you believe they should should be handled...maybe attend at parent council meeting and voice your concerns or ideas....just a thought!
