I have given out some oranges out of my bag to a couple panhandling in the heat, and someone in my car gave her gloves to a man who was panhandling barehanded in the freezing cold. I think it should be about giving people what they obviously need.

Are they harming anyone's harm being..... well if they get pissy and threaten or act on a way people get scared. Yes!  
What if they slip and you hit them with your car....... that opens a whole new can of worms. Maybe I shouldn't say that, might give them ideas.....  
panhandle, sure of you have to I guess but let's have a by law that states they have to be a certain number of feet from the street. I for one have no interest in going to jail or paying more insurance money cause some individual wanted to slide under my vehicle. Standing on a 12 inch divider between 4 lanes of traffic is not very smart. Only a matter of time before they get clipped with a mirror

Was at the corral centre on Thursday and the one young panhandler with the blueish dyed hair looked like he was gonna pass out in the heat. He hand his hand over his face like he wasn't doing well. He was on the smallest part of the divider, had he fallen it would've been directly on the street. Not safe at all.  
 
I do not donate, and they don't really bother me too much. The guy at Canadian tire is friendly enough, but I don't like the fact that if your in your car, with window open, he'll just come lean on the open window. It's a bit unnerving, even though he is friendly. He shouldn't be touching cars, etc. And I have been harassed by a guy at superstore, and one on a bike at Walmart. But the rest don't bother me, I just keep driving.

I know for a fact that some of these panhandlers are absolutely on social assistance! There was a thread about this a few months back and the brother of one of the panhandlers posted about how his brother is looking for work but has mental health issues etc., and so his only option is to panhandle. Well knowing this guys backstory...he receives assistance and has housing.

I find begging of any kind annoying unless it's my dog doing it.  
 
I can't believe that they are allowed by law enforcement to walk the medians. This is idiotic imo because if a pan handler got hit or killed, more than that one life would be affected. Very selfish of the beggar and very irresponsible of law enforcement. Does anyone know why they are allowed to walk that Kirkaldy median? An accident waiting to happen. Let's hope some poor sap that hits the guy/girl on the median isn't found at fault.

I was in the shoppers drug mart parking lot and had one come up to m window. I was a bit shocked. he asked for money and I told him I was on Disability (actually am) and was hesitant to go away. I didn't even have $2 to my name......  
 
Not the first time. I know it is hard to survive on a low budget and all but with crime rates rising is can be very scary when you are a female and alone

I'm pretty sure someone who is "travelling and needs money to travel" doesn't need the money. For one, don't travel if you don't have the money...and two, that dude is probably even! I WISH i was even! I have way more debt than him...why should I give him money?!?

Have a hard Time believing these guys are making much money anymore, maybe in the past but who carry's cash anymore, I have to scour the house to find change, if I want to go down town and need a parking meter, the rest of the time don't have a dime on me lots of cards though their good everywhere not many cash only businesses except Tim but I  
think they are on debit now too aren't they not in the habit of going there never have cash.

you said it - wrong way to find a job. You get out and pound the streets. I have said many times before on threads about jobs, that I got two jobs that were not advertised, very good pay, great benefits and hours and I stayed 23 years. They were not advertising!
