What's goin on there. A bunch of fences are set up. Over half the parking lot when I was there earlier today

Saw some guys surveying and marking the pavement last week. Hopefully repaving, there were some huge holes in the parking lot!!

I could have sworn that parking lot was just repaved a couple years ago. I don't normally shop there but the one time I did last week it wasn't fun avoiding those huge holes.

As others have said, repaving. And it looks like they will be doing the other side when this is done. VERY MUCH NEEDED! I was about to quit shopping there, as every time you go into that lot you risk loosing a tire into a crater. Was annoying, but less annoying than losing a tire or breaking an axel.

too bad noone seems to be able to get asphalt roads and parking lots to last any lenght of time.  
 
I go to edmonton regularly and dont see the same issues. parking lots seem to remain in pretty good condition for years. Lived in Calgary for a while, talk about freeze thaw cycles, but the asphalt never seemed to come apart that quickly.  
 
what it is here that causes the roads to come apart so quickly, the aggregate used, the mix ??  
 
or my imagination?

I believe the water table is higher here. Which causes more splitting of the asphalt.
