We would love to decorate our home with Christmas lights this year, however we own a very large century home. Is it acceptable to leave the lights attached to the house year round? Or do you take them down when the holidays are over?

january but then I have the old style C7 bulbs and they will fad.  
 
I refuse to spend the kind of dollars you need on a set of led's or whatever, yes they use way less power, but my 4 strings use $12 worth of power a season, a string of leds costs twice that and I need 4 to duplicate, plus they are dimmer than the C7's.  
 
but even if I had the new style bulbs I would take them down as I dont like what the house and shrubs would look like in the summer with lights and wires hanging off the eaves.  
 
so it's personal preferance I guess.

Some take them down, some don’t preference is yours!! Husband does our inside and outside decorating!! Love it!!!
