Sister Wives TV Show + Polygamy

Did anyone watch the first episode of Sister Wives on TLC on Sunday?
I found the show to be quite interesting. In this family there are 3 wives (soon to be 4), and 13 children (there will be 3 stepchildren when Kody marries his 4th wife). They all live in the same house but there are separate 'living quarters' for each wife and their children. There is a central area for the entire family.
I just read in the Globe and Mail that Utah is investigating this family's violation of the bigamy laws. Apparently it is a third-degree felony in the state and you can be imprisoned for up to 5 years.

I don't think that polygamy is right or wrong. While it is not a lifestyle I really understand or would ever choose, if that is something consenting adults would like to enter in, I see no harm. As long as the children are safe and no young girls are being forced into these marriages I don't think it should be a punishable crime.
